Altea is situated on the Mediterranean Costa Blanca and is protected by the Bernia mountain range. Apart from creating the warm micro-climate which is so beneficial to Altea and the surrounding area, the combination of sea and mountains provides a wide range of possibilities for resident and visitor alike.

Altea has a fine 9 hole golf course, which is open to visitors, enjoying superb views of the sea and mountains. In addition there are a number of good 18-hole courses within easy distance.
The mountains are not only noted for their beautiful scenery, but also for the possibility of walking or climbing in peace and tranquillity.
Moutains There are stables for those who enjoy horse-riding in spectacular surroundings, and beginner classes are also available. Bicycles can be rented to encourage exploration of the many attractive villages which are tucked away throughout the mountain range.
